Mindset & Money Blocks: What’s Really Holding You Back in Business

As facial therapists, we spend so much time focused on our clients: their needs, their treatments, their results. But when it comes to our own growth, we often bump up against something invisible but very powerful: our mindset and money blocks.
I see this time and time again when speaking to therapists who dream of building fully booked diaries, increasing their income, or finally stepping into the kind of business they’ve always wanted. It’s not their skill or their passion that holds them back — it’s fear, self-doubt, and money stories they’ve carried for years.
The Hidden Money Blocks We All Face
Here are some of the most common ones:
“I can’t afford to invest in myself right now.” This often shows up as fear around spending money on training, mentoring, or resources, even though those are the very things that could unlock growth.
“What if I fail?” Sometimes we worry that if we invest and things don’t work out, it will mean we weren’t good enough. That fear can keep us stuck where we are, even if we know deep down we’re capable of more.
“I don’t deserve to earn more.” This one can be hard to admit, but many therapists subconsciously limit their own success because they feel guilty about charging higher prices or making good money doing something they love.
Why Mindset Matters
The truth is: the way you think about money and success directly impacts the results you create in your business. If you believe you’re not ready, not deserving, or not capable, your actions will reflect that belief.
But when you shift your mindset, you open the door to opportunities, confidence and growth.
Tips to Start Resetting Your Mindset
Here are three ways you can begin working through money blocks right now:
Reframe investment as growth, not loss. Every time you invest in learning or support, you’re planting seeds that will grow into future clients, confidence and income.
Notice your language. Pay attention to how you talk about money, do you use words like “too expensive” or “not worth it”? Reframe to: “This is a step towards my future business.”
Visualise your dream business. Spend a few minutes each day imagining your fully booked diary, loyal clients and financial freedom. The more you can picture it, the more you start believing it’s possible.
